At Auxo Medical, we help hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, GI/endoscopy departments, ENT clinics, sterile processing departments (SPD), and labs choose the right storage and drying cabinets for their workflow—whether you need a dedicated endoscope drying cabinet, a scope storage cabinet with ventilation, or a high-capacity instrument drying cabinet for trays and packs.

What Does a Storage/Drying Cabinet Do (and Why Does It Matter)?

A medical storage or drying cabinet is designed to help your team keep critical devices organized, protected, and ready for the next case. Depending on the cabinet type, that can include:

• Active drying (heated airflow and/or controlled airflow to remove moisture from instruments, trays, and devices)
• Ventilated storage (air exchange or powered ventilation to support clean, dry storage conditions)
• Secure visibility (glass doors for quick inventory checks, plus locking options)
• Efficient organization (scope hangers, racks, shelves, drip/drain management, and better layout)

In short: the right cabinet reduces turnaround friction, supports better standardization, and helps protect high-value equipment.

How to Choose the Right Drying or Storage Cabinet

1) Start with the device type: instruments vs. scopes

• Instrument drying cabinets are typically configured for trays, packs, baskets, and general medical equipment.
• Scope drying cabinets are designed around hanging and protecting flexible scopes, often with airflow features aimed at drying and keeping the internal environment cleaner.

2) Decide on footprint: wall-mount, countertop, or full-size

• Wall-mounted scope cabinets are a smart choice when floor space is tight (common in ENT and bronchoscopy areas).
• Countertop drying cabinets can be ideal for smaller departments, quick drying needs, or constrained layouts.
• Full-size cabinets are often the best fit for high-volume SPD and endoscopy operations.

3) Match capacity to your real peak load

Cabinets are easiest to justify when they solve the “Monday morning backlog” or the “last-case-of-the-day” crunch. We recommend planning around peak volume (not average volume) so your cabinet supports the workflow when it matters most.
