Meet the interns

Summer is an exciting time for us here at Auxo Medical because we get to welcome a new group of incredible people to the family. We’re so excited to introduce the newest members of the Auxo team, the Summer 2017 interns!

These three students are working hard and are determined to make this the best summer yet at Auxo Medical. We’ve asked the interns to answer a few questions in order to get to know them a little more. Without further ado, please welcome the Summer 2o17 Interns!


Mahira Ali

Name: Mahira Ali

College/University: Currently attending VCU. Major: Biomedical Engineering – Track Rehabilitation Engineering. Class of 2019

Position:  Biomedical Technician Intern

Daily duties: Diagnose & repair malfunctioning medical equipment (patient monitors, printed circuit boards, defibrillators, etc.)

Favorite part of the internship: 

My favorite part of the internship so far is being able to get a hands on experience, making myself troubleshoot independently and working with all the fun spirited employees.

What she hopes to gain from the experience: 

I hope to be able to improve my troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. I want to be able to independently diagnose & repair using the resources I have.

Career goals:

Either a Masters in Rehabilitation engineering and work on assistive devices and disease treatments or occupational therapy

What she does in her spare time: 

Going to the gym, dancing, volunteering, & watching movies/tv shows.


Marc ReyesName: Marc Reys

College/University: Currently studying Biomedical Engineering at VCU. Graduating in August 2017

Position: Biomedical Technician Intern

Daily duties: Replacing parts, cleaning, and miscellaneous jobs within the biomed room

Favorite part of the internship: 

I really enjoy the people. I also like the environment here while working

What he hopes to gain from the experience: 

I’m excited to gain more experience and more knowledge of how devices here work.

Career goals: 

My ultimate goal is to be able to run a firm of my own profession.

What he does in his spare time:

 Going outdoor, working out, tennis, video games, and YouTube clips

 


Grace BowenName: Grace Bowen

College/University: Sociology Major, Russian Area studies Minor, Studio Art Minor at Washington and Lee University I graduate May 2019

Position: Marketing Intern

Daily duties: Updating the website, help manage eBay, DotMed and Kwipped inquires, help manage social media platforms and working with MailChimp campaigns

Favorite part of the internship: 

Helping manage social media and learning new marketing techniques

What she hopes to gain from the experience: 

I hope to learn a lot about marketing & gain new skills that I can utilize in the future. 

Career goals: 

I hope to go to law school

What she does in her spare time: 

I play field hockey at Washington and Lee so I work out a lot and train for that. I also like to do art and read in my spare time.
