For difficult-to-defibrillate patients, the 20e uses Physio-Control ADAPTIV™ biphasic technology for the maximum range of energy settings—up to 360 joules. For patients who need additional shocks, this has been shown to be a better strategy for terminating shockable heart rhythms in patients who need more than one shock.
