Ensuring Accessible Medical Care: How We Help Practices Meet Compliance Standards

At Auxo Medical, we understand that providing equitable healthcare starts with the right equipment. Every patient deserves access to thorough examinations without barriers, and we are committed to helping medical practices achieve that through high-quality, compliant solutions. With evolving federal guidelines emphasizing accessibility in diagnostic equipment, now is the time to prepare your facility.

What are the New ADA Accessibility Requirements for Exam Tables?

The Americans with Disabilities Act and related regulations require healthcare providers to offer full and equal access to services. This includes ensuring that individuals with mobility disabilities can receive care on exam tables, chairs, and scales without unnecessary obstacles. Examining patients in wheelchairs or relying on makeshift accommodations often falls short of delivering the same level of care as for other patients. Adjustable equipment that lowers to wheelchair height makes a significant difference, allowing safe and effective transfers. Source: https://www.ada.gov/resources/medical-care-mobility/

By August 9, 2026, Practices and facility need to have at least one accessible exam table and one accessible weight scale in place. At least 10% of the total number of units at a facility, but no fewer than one unit, must meet the Access Board Standards (MDE).

Source: https://www.aap.org/en/practice-management/liability-and-regulation/complying-with-2024-adahhs-requirements-for-accessible-medical-diagnostic-equipment/

Key physical criteria for accessible exam tables and chairs include a low transfer height that aligns with standard wheelchair levels, a sufficiently wide and deep transfer surface, and a base narrow enough to permit patient lifts to position underneath. Two sides of the transfer surface should allow easy access, and when stirrups are involved, appropriate leg supports must be available for secure positioning. Support rails play an essential role too—they must be positioned close to the transfer surface, extend adequately in length and height, feature an appropriate diameter for gripping, and maintain a continuous, unobstructed surface for safe use during transfers.

Physical Criteria for Exam Tables:

  • Tables adjust to a low seat height of 17–19″ – Confirm should it or should it not be 17”
  • Transfer surface at least 21″ wide by 17″ deep
  • Base cannot be more than 26” Wide
  • Two adjoining sides of the seat must be accessible for transfers
  • When using stirrups, provide leg supports for positioning/securement
    • Under Knee Leg supports

Support Rails:

  • Located 1 ½ inches maximum measured horizontally from the plane defined by the nearest edge of the transfer surface
  • Capable of supporting transfer on each side of the transfer surface
  • 15 inches long minimum
  • 6 inches to 19 inches in height (higher than the top of the associated uncompressed transfer surface) during use
  • An outside diameter of 1 ¼ inches minimum and 2 inches maximum (circular cross section)
  • A gripping surface continuous along their length and shall not be obstructed

Midmark Solutions at Auxo Medical

We specialize in Midmark solutions that align with these Access Board standards for medical diagnostic equipment. Our offerings include the Barrier-Free Examination Chair and Procedure Chair models, designed with features like low seat heights, compatible bases for lifts, and integrated support options. These help practices fulfill requirements for at least one accessible exam table or chair per facility, along with a compliant weight scale. The focus is on both HHS and DOJ timelines, giving facilities until mid-2026 to have the necessary items in place depending on their classification. Source: https://www.midmark.com/medical/medical-solutions/patient-accessibility#standards

Beyond tables and chairs, we recognize the value of stretchers with ample clearance underneath. This design allows lift bases to roll under smoothly, enhancing safety for both patients and staff during transfers and reducing the risk of injury. Our team works closely with practices to identify the best configurations, including options that support ongoing compliance as new equipment is acquired.

Training and thoughtful placement matter as much as the equipment itself. We encourage facilities to reserve accessible rooms for patients who need them, note accessibility requirements in patient records, and ensure staff are prepared to assist with transfers and positioning. By investing in the right tools now, practices can avoid service denials, improve patient outcomes, and create a more inclusive environment.

syringe and infusion pumps - Auxo Medical

High-Performance Infusion & Syringe Pumps for Hospitals, ASCs, Clinics and Pharmacies

At Auxo Medical, we specialize in matching healthcare providers with the safest, most reliable infusion technology on the market. Accross the US we sell, rent, and service brand-new and professionally refurbished pumps that keep workflows smooth and patients protected.

Smart volumetric pumps that simplify complex drug delivery

B. Braun Infusomat Space Infusion Pump (Wi-Fi) weighs just three pounds yet stacks up to 24 units at the bedside. Adult and pediatric acute-care floors appreciate its extensive drug library and wireless connectivity, while rural surgery centers love the small footprint that saves pole space.

For facilities that need flexible flow-rate ranges, our Volumat MC Agilia Infusion Pump delivers everything from micro-precision NICU drips to high-volume hydration at 1,500 mL/h. Oncology infusion suites value Agilia’s Vigilant® drug-library software for enforcing soft and hard safety limits on chemotherapy protocols.

Industry-leading modular systems for large hospitals

Our refurbished Alaris Medley 8015 Point of Care Module acts as the brain of the Alaris® platform, giving clinicians in critical-care, ED, and perioperative areas one familiar interface for every medication channel.

Add the Alaris 8120 PCA Syringe Pump to introduce Guardrails®-protected patient-controlled analgesia. When paired with EtCO₂ or SpO₂ monitoring modules, the system automatically pauses infusions if respiratory parameters fall outside hospital-defined limits—ideal for step-down units striving to reduce opioid-related events.

Syringe pumps designed for neonatal, anesthesia & research needs

The compact Medfusion 3500 (V3.0.6) Syringe Pump detects seven syringe brands, supports rates down to 0.01 mL/hr, and is MRI-conditional—perfect for NICUs, transport teams, and interventional radiology suites.

When your pharmacy requires a leap in drug-library capacity, the Medfusion 4000 Syringe Pump layers advanced PharmGuard software on the trusted 3500 platform, giving anesthesia and pediatric ICU staff ±2 % accuracy across the full 0.01–1,130 mL/hr range.

Research labs and pain clinics across the US rely on the Baxter AS50 Syringe Pump for its RS-232 interface, which allows remote control during pharmacology studies or chronic-pain infusions.

Ambulatory and multi-therapy solutions for home care & EMS

We provide the Eitan Medical Sapphire™ Multi-Therapy Pump—a 14.7-ounce workhorse that delivers continuous, TPN, PCA, and epidural modalities with 24-hour battery life. Home-infusion pharmacies in Kentucky and South Carolina choose Sapphire for its lockbox options and intuitive touch screen that reduces training time for visiting nurses.

Paramedic units standardize on the Curlin 6000 CMS because its curvilinear peristaltic mechanism tolerates bumps in transport while offering PCA, TPN, intermittent, and variable dosing profiles.

Dual-channel & high-capacity pumps for busy infusion centers

Outpatient cancer centers favor the Plum 360 Infusystem for its dual-line design, which cuts pole clutter and lets nurses program concurrent chemo and hydration without switching sets. With ±5 % accuracy and full drug-library support, it aligns with USP <797>/<800> safety mandates.

Sterile Processing and Biomedical Maintenance and Repair

Medical and Lab Equipment Repair in Atlanta, GA: Preventive Maintenance You Can Count On From Auxo Medical

When your clinical team is moving fast, equipment problems can’t be “tomorrow’s issue.” In the Atlanta metro area, we help hospitals, surgery centers, clinics, and laboratories stay ready for patient care with responsive medical and lab equipment repair, inspections, calibrations, and preventive maintenance programs designed to reduce downtime and protect your budget.

We built our Atlanta, Georgia service offering for one goal: keep your facility operating safely, efficiently, and with the documentation you need for surveys and internal accountability.

Proudly Serving the Atlanta Metro Area and Surrounding Communities

We provide field service throughout the Atlanta metro area and nearby cities, including Roswell, Gainesville, Athens, Alpharetta, Marietta, Carrollton, Macon, Newnan, Peachtree City, Griffin, and surrounding areas.

If you’re just outside our usual field coverage, we still encourage you to reach out. In many cases, we can offer a solution.

What We Service: Medical and Sterile Processing Equipment That Keeps Your Facility Moving

Healthcare operations depend on more than a single device. They depend on systems working together, day after day. We support that reality by servicing a wide range of equipment categories under one service partner.

Sterile processing equipment service in Atlanta

Sterile processing is mission critical. If sterilization equipment goes down, cases back up quickly, and the ripple effects hit scheduling, staff stress, and patient experience. We provide preventive maintenance plans and repairs for sterile processing equipment, including:

  • Sterilizers and autoclaves
  • Washer disinfectors
  • Ultrasonic cleaners
  • Steam generators

Our preventive maintenance programs are built to catch small issues before they become disruptive failures. Regular service helps extend equipment life, improve performance, and reduce unexpected breakdowns—so your department can focus on throughput and quality.

We regularly support a wide range of sterile processing brands and models, including Steris, Amsco, V-Pro, Getinge, Primus Spire, Scientek, Consolidated, Sharpertek, Belimed, BetaStar, Miele, Basil, Lancer, and Tuttnauer.

Biomedical equipment maintenance, inspections, and repair

Biomedical devices touch nearly every step of care, from monitoring to procedures. We provide biomedical equipment service, maintenance, and repair across many device types, including:

  • Patient monitors
  • ECG machines
  • Surgical tables and exam tables
  • Surgical lights and other procedure lighting
  • Stretchers
  • Electrosurgical units
  • Ventilators

We have certified biomedical equipment technicians on staff, and we service and maintain equipment to meet rigorous industry recommendations. We also support a broad set of top brands and models, including GE Healthcare, Datascope, Philips, Mindray, Edan, Medtronic, Steris, Amsco, Midmark, Skytron, Stryker, and Hill-Rom.

Why Preventive Maintenance Matters More Than Ever

Auxo Medical SPD Preventative Maintenance Service PlansReactive repairs are expensive in more ways than one. They cost you in emergency labor, rushed logistics, schedule disruption, staff overtime, and lost clinical capacity.

Our preventive maintenance approach is designed to help you:

  • Reduce breakdowns and interruptions to patient care
  • Keep equipment operating at peak performance
  • Extend the useful life of high-value assets
  • Lower the long-run cost of maintenance by avoiding preventable failures
  • Maintain clear service records for surveys, audits, and budgeting

In short: planned maintenance protects uptime, and uptime protects patient care.

Documentation, Reporting, and Visibility: We Make Compliance Easier

Service is only half the job. The other half is proving the work was done properly and consistently.

We provide thorough inspections, maintenance, repairs, and calibrations with complete diagnostic, repair, and calibration reports for your records. For many categories, we can also provide loaner equipment options to help minimize downtime while your device is being serviced.

The Auxo Medical Service Portal: A Better Way to Manage Equipment Service

For service agreement holders, our Service Portal is a secure place to manage equipment support without guesswork. Through the portal, you can:

  • Manage your equipment inventory
  • Track support cases and work orders in real time
  • Create new work orders that go straight to our service team
  • Pull maintenance and repair history reports for individual assets

If you’ve ever had to scramble for service documentation before a survey, you know how valuable it is to have organized records ready when you need them.

Cost-Effective Service Without Cutting Corners

We recognize the financial pressure healthcare facilities face. Our goal is to deliver cost-effective maintenance and repair that keeps your equipment safe, reliable, and available—without forcing you into unnecessary replacement decisions.

That means practical troubleshooting, honest recommendations, and service strategies that prioritize total value over short-term patches.

New and Refurbished Medical Equipment: Trusted Options for Atlanta Facilities

In addition to service and maintenance, we offer a wide selection of trusted new and refurbished medical equipment. We focus on quality and reliability, and we help you choose equipment that fits your clinical needs and budget—whether you’re expanding, replacing aging assets, or standardizing across departments.

Equipment Upgrades and Refurbishment Support

Sometimes the best path is not buying new—it’s upgrading what you already own.

We can help upgrade or refurbish equipment on site, or remove and replace older equipment with a cost-conscious alternative. This is a practical option for facilities trying to modernize while keeping capital spending under control.

What Atlanta-Area Facilities Say About Working With Us

Clients regularly highlight our responsiveness, clear communication, and ability to complete preventive maintenance, repairs, and paperwork in a timely way. Whether you’re outfitting a busy operating room, an ambulatory surgery center, or a specialty clinic, finding the right C-arm can make all the difference in procedural efficiency, image quality, and patient outcomes. At Auxo Medical, we carry over 30 high-quality C-arms from trusted brands like OEC, Genoray, Siemens, Hologic, and Fujifilm—available new, refurbished, and reconditioned to fit every budget and clinical need.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through what a C-arm is, why it matters, which models we currently offer, and how to choose the right mobile fluoroscopy system for your facility.

What Is a C-Arm?

A C-arm is a mobile imaging device named for its distinctive C-shaped arm that connects an X-ray source on one end to an X-ray detector on the other. This unique architecture allows the device to rotate freely around the patient, delivering high-resolution, real-time fluoroscopic images without requiring patient repositioning.

C-arms are indispensable across a wide range of medical specialties, including:

  • Orthopedics – Pinning fractures, verifying hardware placement, and checking bone alignment
  • Pain Management – Guiding needle placement for epidural steroid injections and nerve blocks
  • Vascular Surgery – Visualizing blood flow, identifying blockages, and guiding catheter-based interventions
  • Cardiac Studies – Monitoring heart function during catheterization procedures
  • Spine Surgery – Confirming pedicle screw placement and disc-level verification
  • General Surgery & ERCP – Real-time guidance for minimally invasive procedures

How to Choose the Right C-Arm for Your Facility

Selecting the ideal C-arm depends on several key factors:

1. Procedural Mix and Specialty

Different specialties demand different capabilities. Vascular and cardiac procedures typically require larger detectors, higher frame rates, and greater generator power for optimal vessel visualization. Orthopedic and pain management cases may be well-served by a standard image intensifier or smaller flat panel detector.

2. Image Intensifier vs. Flat Panel Detector

  • Image Intensifier (II) systems like the OEC 9800 are cost-effective, proven platforms ideal for general surgery and orthopedics.
  • Flat Panel Detector (FPD) systems like the Fujifilm Persona series offer superior image uniformity, lower dose potential, a more compact detector housing, and no geometric distortion—making them the gold standard for vascular, cardiac, and complex spine work.

3. Facility Size and Mobility Needs

Consider hallway widths, OR dimensions, and how frequently the C-arm will be moved between rooms. Compact models like the Persona CS are designed for tight spaces and quick repositioning.

4. Budget: New vs. Refurbished

A refurbished C-arm from a trusted provider like Auxo Medical delivers clinical-grade performance at significantly reduced cost. Our refurbished OEC systems, for example, undergo comprehensive reconditioning to ensure reliability and image quality comparable to new equipment.

5. Service and Support

A C-arm is a long-term investment. We offer ongoing preventive maintenance and responsive repair services to protect your investment and minimize costly downtime.

The Benefits of Buying a Refurbished C-Arm

For many facilities—especially ambulatory surgery centers, chiropractic practices, veterinary clinics, and smaller hospitals—a refurbished C-arm offers the best balance of performance and value:

  • Cost savings of 40–60% compared to new equipment
  • Proven reliability from established platforms with extensive service histories
  • Faster availability with shorter lead times than new system orders
  • Sustainability through extending the useful life of quality medical equipment
  • Full service backing from our in-house biomedical engineering team

C-Arm Maintenance and Repair Services

Keeping your C-arm in peak operating condition is essential for image quality, regulatory compliance, and patient safety. At Auxo Medical, we provide:

  • Emergency repair services to get you back up and running quickly
  • Tube replacements and detector calibration
